added my commentary per request: the midday sun broke through the clouds and shone brightly on this abandoned swimming hole in the middle of a forest on a private ranch. forgotten floats from the summer sat upon murky dark water. it was such an eerie scene with black shadows dappling the wooden decking and whitehot highlights on the rubber rafts. despite the quiet secret atmosphere, i could imagine the ghostly echoes of guests splashing and playing in days gone by. this place made me shiver.

thank you! the midday sun was reflected so brightly on those floating things that they glowed. it was a strangely peaceful scene. the color was vibrant but distracting, i felt the monochrome version focused on the light better :)

i love the reflection, its as if the..things... horrid inside are only see in the reflection of te water if you get what i mean.

thank you ~ i do know what you mean. so much nasty detail hiding in the shadows of the reflections. i like the beauty of the reality and blame the gritty ugliness on the quagmire where they float captured.

thanks :) mysteries are fun :) they are inflatable toys and rafts left floating in a swimming hole closed down for fall/winter.

thank you! i got as close to the edge as i could without falling in ~ the swimming hole is in a dark forest and the bright noon sun was directly overhead :)
